The STAR Project

The STAR Project (Service To Another Rewards) is a service-learning curriculum developed by Dr. Janeal White for fully online students and courses. The six module curriculum introduces students to the concept of service-learning then guides them through the process of conducting an authentic needs assessment followed by development of a real service project for their communities. Once the project has been implemented, students evaluate their success and reflect on the process of serving others.

In 2022, Dr. White and Dr. Ilya Okhotnikov received a generous $13,000 grant from the Louisiana
Board of Regents eLearning Innovation program to support development of the curriculum modules for faculty integration.
